// Story & Setting

A Dark Chapter of the Clone Wars

You play as Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company — an unconventional outfit of mercenaries and professionals for hire. Operating in the gray areas of the Clone Wars, your squad takes on missions that neither the Republic nor the Jedi Order will touch.

Your primary adversary is the Infinite Coil, a mysterious Separatist-aligned group whose actions threaten the entire galaxy. As Hawks, you'll recruit operatives, forge bonds, and make impossible choices across iconic Star Wars locations including Mapuzo and worlds seen in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Narrative Tone

Zero Company delivers a "dark and authentic" Star Wars story, emphasizing tactical depth and the human cost of war. Every decision shapes your squad's fate and each playthrough unfolds differently.

The game features a notable cast including Anakin Skywalker (voiced by Matt Lanter, returning from The Clone Wars animated series), clone trooper Trick (Dee Bradley Baker), astromech M-3VO "Meevo" (DC Douglas), and more.

// Core Mechanics

Gameplay Systems

Seven interlocking systems define every battle and every decision between missions.

01 / ACTION POINTS

3 AP Per Turn

Each operator gets 3 Action Points per turn to spend on movement, attacks, abilities, or items. Longer moves and heavy attacks cost more AP. Positioning is everything.

Core Combat
02 / ADVANTAGE POINTS

Shared Squad Resource

Every successful hit builds a shared pool of Advantage Points. Spend them on high-impact abilities like rocket barrages, heavy blaster volleys, and character-specific ultimates.

Core Combat
03 / COVER & DESTRUCTION

Destructible Battlefields

Half and full cover reduce incoming hit chance. Flanking and high ground improve your odds. Some cover can be destroyed to open new firing lanes or force enemies out.

Tactical
04 / OVERWATCH

Reaction Fire Cones

Set adjustable overwatch cones that auto-fire when enemies move or act within range. Longer cones reduce accuracy; investing more AP adds reaction shots. Moving targets hit mid-stride can be interrupted.

Tactical
05 / PERMADEATH

Three Strikes & You're Out

Downed operators enter an Injured state with stat penalties. They can be revived twice — the third downing means permanent death. Hawks is exempt (death = mission restart). Permadeath can be toggled off.

High Stakes
06 / BOND SYSTEM

Squad Relationships Matter

Operators who deploy together build bonds. Higher bonds unlock cross-training (learn each other's abilities) and combat synergies like "Call for Backup" — automatic follow-up attacks. Even ideological rivals can bond.

Progression
07 / THE DEN

Base of Operations

Between missions, manage your base "The Den": recruit operators, upgrade gear, train skills, nurture relationships, and prepare your squad for the next deployment. Bond levels unlock new training options.

7 Tips to Survive Your First Deployment

01

Always Bring a Medic

The Medic's First Responder passive fully heals revived operators. Non-Medic revives only restore a fraction of health, leaving the target vulnerable to a second downing. Running a Medic is the single most effective permadeath prevention strategy.

02

Use Overwatch to Control Movement

Place overwatch cones on chokepoints and enemy approach routes. Enemies hit while moving can be interrupted, wasting their turn. Invest extra AP for multiple reaction shots on high-traffic lanes.

03

Bank Advantage Points for Key Moments

Don't spend Advantage Points on trivial kills. Save them for rocket barrages against clustered enemies, emergency heals, or breaking through tough boss encounters.

04

Revive Downed Operators Immediately

A downed operator accumulates Injuries that reduce combat effectiveness. The third downing is permanent. Move a teammate adjacent and use 1 AP to rally them — but remember a Medic rally is vastly superior.

05

Destroy Cover to Create Angles

Some cover objects are destructible. Blow them open to create flanking shots, force enemies into the open, or deny them safe positions. Use Heavy weapons and explosives for this.

06

Protect Hawks at All Costs

Your protagonist cannot be permanently killed, but if Hawks goes down the mission restarts immediately. Keep Hawks behind the front line and use the squad to absorb damage.

07

Invest in Bond Pairings

Deploy the same operators together consistently to build bonds. High-bond pairs unlock cross-training and Call for Backup synergies that can turn difficult fights. Plan your squad composition around bond progression at The Den.
